  We enjoyed every moment of our stay at Hotel Rural Las Calas. Waking to birdsong in the mornings, enjoying our nutritious breakfast, it felt like a real retreat to us. We stayed in a double room and it looks exactly as shown on the photos. The room is clean and comfortable with character. The hotel used to be an old farmhouse and one of the folders in the sitting room shows the work that the place has gone through. We were impressed at how far the owners have gone from its original derelict state! The bathroom is clean and adequate despite having a bit of a drainage problem.

  It is a shame we spend most of our time out and about, and did not manage to spend more time in the immaculately kept garden/courtyard. When we were there in march, the trees are full of oranges and the orchids were in full bloom! There are plenty of comfortable seats around the garden to enjoy the sun and surrounding.

  Wifi was pretty much non-existent during our stay, which made it even more of a retreat. There is plenty to keep us entertained - books and games in the library, and information of walking routes in the sitting room.

  We opted for half board and as others may have mentioned, dinner is indeed a home cooked meal, nevertheless we have very much enjoyed. The breakfast was not any different from what you could find in any other hotel, but it is different story when we had it in the verandah facing the orchids and orange trees in the sun, there cannot be a better way to start a day! Packed lunches could be purchased at breakfast for around 8 euros.

  Precioso lugar tranquilo y con mucha historia. Lugar idílico. Atención muy buena. Habitaciones y entorno preciosos. Vale la pena.

  Fabulous little place. Very good accommodation, our room very spacious. Very friendly. Good breakfast. Car needed, although we used bus for nearby places of interest.

  The hotel is a perfect base if you would like to see the mountains, and to beat the crowds to Roque Nublo, being reasonably close. However it may be a bit tricky without a car.
